Mobility, safety and connectivity improvements are coming to William Cannon Drive between Southwest Parkway and McKinney Falls Parkway. The improvements are funded by the 2016 Austin Mobility Bond.

Status: Under Construction

August 27, 2026 update: Work at the McKinney Falls intersection is in the finishing stages and will include an overnight closure of the southbound right-turn lane the week of August 9, 2026. Crews are also working on signal installations at Janes Ranch Road and Springfield Drive.

Scope of Project

Approximately 4,105 linear feet of corridor mobility improvements, including:

  • additional travel lanes,
  • intersection improvements,
  • new and upgraded traffic signals and crosswalk signals (pedestrian hybrid beacons or PHBs),
  • shared-use paths,
  • median reconstruction,
  • landscape improvements,
  • mobility improvements,
  • driveway reconstruction,
  • street drainage improvements,
  • water line relocation and more.
