Buttermilk Branch Stream Restoration Project
Buttermilk Branch Stream Restoration Project
The City of Austin Watershed Protection Department (WPD) has identified Buttermilk Creek, a tributary to Little Walnut Creek, as a priority stream reach in need of stabilization and erosion mitigation measures. The specific area for the project begins at Cameron Road and passes between the Coronado Hills neighborhood and Anderson Lane (US 290) before joining mainstem Little Walnut Creek near the Old Towne neighborhood in northeast Austin.
The primary goal of the project is to stabilize banks in a manner that eliminates or mitigates erosion damage to private and public property and enhances the ecological health of the stream. This project is still in the very early stages and we would like to hear from you about your priorities and concerns so that your input can inform our plans.
