North Lamar Boulevard corridor project

Mobility, safety and connectivity improvements are coming to Lamar Boulevard from US 183 to Howard Lane. The improvements are funded by the 2016 Austin Mobility Bond.

    South of US 183 to Rundberg Lane

    • Intersection improvements at Payton Gin Road
    • shared-use paths
    • high-visibility crosswalks
    • upgraded/new traffic signals at Fairfield Drive, Grady Drive and Powell Lane
    • crosswalk signal (pedestrian hybrid beacon or PHB) at Cooper Drive
    • removal of the "pork chop" median island at Morrow Street
    • relocated bus stops for better transit access

     

    US 183 to Rundberg Lane

    • bicycle and pedestrian facilities
    • bus stops
    • driveways and curb ramp improvements with ADA compliance

     

    Rundberg Lane to Parmer Lane

    • shared-use pedestrian bridge over Walnut Creek
    • upgraded sidewalks and bike lanes
    • traffic signal improvements
