About the 2025 Conference

Austinites are invited to join leading policymakers, practitioners, advocates, and community members to share ideas and discuss current fair housing issues. The all-day conference is free and open to the public, with breakfast and lunch included. Bryan Snoddy, Civil Rights Division Director with Texas Workforce Commission (TWC), will be the keynote speaker at this year’s conference.  The day will include: 

  • Insightful panel discussions on housing discrimination, tenant rights, and inclusive housing policies.
  • Interactive workshops led by local experts.
  • Resource Hub featuring organizations providing housing assistance, legal services, and community programs.
  • Networking opportunities with advocates and professionals committed to housing equity.

The City of Austin, Office of Equity & Inclusion (OEI), Civil Rights Division enforces local fair employment and fair housing ordinances under contract with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). In alignment with this commitment, the Office of Civil Rights promotes fair employment and fair housing with local outreach and events.

The Housing Department partners with the community to shape a more equitable Austin and to prevent the displacement of people and services through the investment of affordable housing resources. 

Texas Workforce Commission,
Civil Rights Division 

Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) is the state agency charged with overseeing and providing workforce development services to employers and job seekers of Texas. TWC strengthens the Texas economy by providing the workforce development component of the Governor's economic development strategy. Texas boasts an incredibly skilled workforce ready to attract enterprise to the Lone Star State. By focusing on the needs of employers, TWC gives Texas the competitive edge necessary to draw business here.

The Civil Rights Division (CRD) enforces state and federal laws. The division conducts investigations into discrimination in employment and housing across the state.
