The City of Austin’s Equity Office provides leadership, guidance, and insight on matters of diversity, equity, and inclusion to improve the quality of life for all Austinites. This requires tackling tough issues such as institutional racism and implicit bias. Creating a culture of equity will ensure we are meeting the needs of all residents. The Equity Office was created in 2016 to focus on advancing equity in all aspects of City operations.
A tremendous career opportunity awaits an inclusive, talented, and accomplished candidate to join the City of Austin as the City’s second Chief Equity Officer since creation of the Office. Under the direction of the Chief of Staff, the Equity Officer is responsible for the development, coordination, and administration of social and community equity policies and practices for the City of Austin.
This survey will be used to help identify the desired skills and key characteristics of the City’s next Chief Equity Officer. The information obtained in this survey will be used by Chief of Staff Jason Alexander, the hiring manager, to determine which candidates he would like to bring forward to interview.
